About The Position

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) role, under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, involves performing specific direct and indirect patient care duties to support a safe and efficient care environment. This position contributes to comprehensive patient care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards and policies, and is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience alongside the care team. The role operates in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities, requiring scheduling flexibility. Opportunities for career advancement are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of PCT specific HHC orientation
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment
  • Current certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT or CMA to be eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder

Responsibilities

  • Perform specific duties that support patient care, which includes direct and indirect patient care activities that are essential to providing a safe and efficient care environment
  • Perform selected interventions and activities that contribute to providing comprehensive care to patients in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure a positive patient experience along with the care team
