About The Position

The Clinical Office Assistant provides a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse, following established guidelines and standards. Duties vary and may include both front-office and back-office functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program; alternatively, two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience may substitute for formal program education.
• One year of experience in a medical office setting when the candidate has completed a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program; alternatively, two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience in lieu of a degree or certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization, required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, required upon hire.
