About The Position

The clinical nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients. This role involves performing professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. The nurse will also evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge, revising the plan or making referrals as necessary. Additionally, the position acts as a role model and mentor to students and new nurses and may function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested.

Requirements

  • PALS certification upon hire
  • Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Registered Nurse license
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

Responsibilities
