About The Position

The Department of Corrections (IDOC) is seeking to hire an Office Associate to serve as the unit secretary in the Health Care Unit. This position will also be responsible for compiling timekeeping records, keyboarding a variety of complex documents, serving as a receptionist, and updating administrative files for the unit. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess strong multitasking abilities.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the unit secretary in the Health Care Unit.
  • Compiles timekeeping records for all Health Care Unit employees and individuals in custody workers on a daily basis.
  • Keyboards complex charts, statistical reports, documents, forms, memoranda, and letters.
  • Serves as a receptionist.
  • Updates administrative files for unit.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
