About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 14 or more years of experience, or master’s degree and 12 or more years of experience, or PhD/JD and 9 or more years of experience.
• In-depth technical expertise in at least two of the following: orbital analysis, satellite communication systems, space surveillance technologies, radar systems, or optical systems.
• Experience with satellite acquisition, development, and operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience interacting with the intelligence community, including reading and applying intelligence assessments and coordinating with intelligence community experts.
• Experience using STK or similar satellite mission analysis software.
• Active Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Demonstrated effective individual and group work behaviors, with the ability to initiate work proactively and operate in dynamic, incompletely defined environments.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams of scientists and engineers through adaptive leadership and high emotional intelligence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including conveying technical concepts, results, and summaries to internal and external customers and stakeholders with diverse technical backgrounds.
• Ability to provide technical leadership to teams of subject-matter experts, including technical guidance, oversight, mentoring, and delivery of timely, quality products.
• Experience briefing and interacting with senior government customers.
• Experience creating, writing, integrating, and presenting technical briefings and documents.
• Ability to decompose problems into analytical tasks.
• Experience with program planning, task decomposition, and resource assignments.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s or doctorate degree in physics, engineering, or mathematics.
• TS/SCS clearance with Special Access eligibility and consent to set to a poly.
• Experience in space system acquisition or space technology development.
• Experience with project or task technical leadership.
• Working knowledge of radar and/or optical technologies.
• Familiarity with National Security Space architecture (IC and/or DoD).
• Experience using Systems Tool Kit (STK), MATLAB, Linux, Python, or COAST/FIST.
• Proficiency with program-planning processes and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and analysts in program-specific analyses, foreign threat capabilities, development, and research.
• Manage IPT tasking, timelines, status, and deliverables across analysis, threat, and phenomenology functions.
• Maintain communication and schedule meetings with end-customer offices; coordinate information needs, product delivery timelines, and status.
• Report IPT project, task, and deliverable status to program and government customer management during periodic reviews.
• Identify, remove, or escalate blockers affecting team tasks or deliverables.
• Participate in intelligence or cross-team product production meetings as required.
• Develop a detailed understanding of satellite systems, designs, operations, and classifications.
• Identify gaps and prioritize recommendations to achieve program protection objectives.
• Author, review, and coordinate documents that facilitate government decision-making.
• Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. national security space capabilities, foreign space capabilities, and counter-space threats.
• Represent the customer at government and contractor meetings and attend programmatic and technical reviews, providing technical recommendations and risk assessments.
• Interact frequently with program managers, SETAs, FFRDCs, and external stakeholders.
• Build productive relationships with the Program Office, prime and subcontractor counterparts, functional IC or DoD counterparts, and other subject-matter experts.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight, mentor team members, and integrate and deliver timely, quality products.
• Create, write, integrate, and present technical briefings and documents; brief and interact with senior government customers.
• Decompose problems into analytical tasks and support program planning, task decomposition, and resource assignments.
