About The Position

The Senior Manager, Social Media & Digital Engagement is responsible for leading the strategic direction, execution, and performance of the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s digital ecosystem, including social media, email marketing, website engagement, digital campaigns, and audience development strategies across multiple brands and platforms. This role serves as the organization’s senior digital communications leader, developing innovative strategies that increase audience engagement, strengthen brand awareness, support fundraising efforts, promote educational initiatives, drive museum attendance, and advance the organization’s global mission. The Senior Manager oversees digital engagement for the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Museum of Tolerance, Mobile Museums of Tolerance, Moriah Media, and other affiliated initiatives while collaborating closely with executive leadership, Communications, Development, Museum leadership, Education, and external partners. The ideal candidate is an experienced digital strategist, exceptional storyteller, creative content producer, and collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can successfully balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience in digital marketing, social media, communications, brand management, or digital engagement.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-brand digital strategies and integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills.
  • Experience producing professional photography, video, and multimedia content.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, audience development strategies, analytics, email marketing, website management, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Experience with Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Analytics, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing platforms, and content management systems.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

  • Experience working within nonprofit, education, museum, cultural, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, donor engagement, and mission-based campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital engagement strategy that advances organizational priorities, increases audience growth, and supports fundraising, education, advocacy, museum attendance, and public awareness initiatives.
  • Lead digital communications strategy across multiple organizational brands while ensuring consistent messaging, voice, and visual identity.
  • Translate executive leadership priorities into compelling digital campaigns that strengthen engagement and expand organizational reach.
  • Identify emerging digital trends, technologies, and opportunities that enhance organizational visibility and impact.
  • Serve as the organization’s internal subject matter expert on digital communications, audience engagement, and social media strategy.
  • Oversee strategy, content development, and performance across all organizational social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Bluesky, and emerging channels.
  • Develop integrated content strategies and editorial calendars aligned with organizational priorities, campaigns, exhibitions, events, educational programming, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Build and nurture online communities through meaningful audience engagement and timely responses.
  • Monitor platform analytics and continuously optimize content strategies to maximize reach, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Identify influencer, community, and partnership opportunities that expand digital visibility and strengthen organizational relationships.
  • Lead integrated digital marketing campaigns supporting fundraising, donor acquisition, advocacy, museum attendance, educational initiatives, exhibitions, and organizational events.
  • Develop audience segmentation strategies to effectively engage donors, educators, students, museum visitors, community partners, and supporters.
  • Collaborate with Development, Education, Museum, and Communications teams to create coordinated multi-channel campaigns.
  • Establish campaign objectives, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks that measure effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Develop strategies that connect digital storytelling with organizational goals, audience growth, and mission impact.
  • Lead the development of compelling digital storytelling that communicates the organization’s mission, programs, history, and impact.
  • Produce original photography, videography, graphics, and multimedia content for digital campaigns, social media, events, and organizational initiatives.
  • Capture photography and video at organizational events, educational programs, leadership engagements, museum activities, and community events.
  • Produce short-form and long-form video content, including interviews, educational features, promotional campaigns, and mission-driven storytelling.
  • Maintain digital asset libraries and establish creative standards that ensure consistent brand representation.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify opportunities for impactful storytelling across digital platforms.
  • Develop and manage paid digital advertising strategies across Meta, LinkedIn, Google, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
  • Create targeted campaigns that increase donations, event participation, audience acquisition, website traffic, and email list growth.
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize advertising strategies based on key performance indicators and return on investment.
  • Manage digital advertising budgets and provide ongoing performance analysis and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand audiences through digital acquisition strategies.
  • Lead integrated digital marketing and communications efforts supporting the Museum of Tolerance (MOT), Mobile Museums of Tolerance, and affiliated educational initiatives.
  • Develop strategies that increase awareness, engagement, attendance, and mission impact through coordinated digital communications.
  • Develop and execute email marketing strategies supporting audience engagement, event promotion, exhibitions, educational programming, fundraising initiatives, and organizational campaigns.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns from concept through execution, including audience segmentation, content development, scheduling, testing, performance tracking, and optimization.
  • Partner with Communications, Development, Education, Museum, and Program teams to create targeted email journeys that effectively engage donors, educators, students, visitors, community partners, and supporters.
  • Develop strategies to grow and maintain email subscriber audiences while improving engagement metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and overall campaign performance.
  • Oversee website content strategy and digital marketing initiatives for the Museum of Tolerance and affiliated websites, ensuring content is accurate, timely, engaging, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external website partners to improve website functionality, user experience, search visibility, content organization, and digital conversion pathways.
  • Develop and implement digital campaigns promoting museum exhibitions, educational programs, community events, special initiatives, and mission-driven storytelling.
  • Ensure alignment between social media, email marketing, website content, paid media, and broader communications campaigns to create a cohesive digital experience across all audience touch points.
  • Analyze email, website, and digital campaign performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Stay current on emerging digital marketing trends, email automation strategies, website technologies, accessibility standards, and audience engagement best practices.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to improve website content, usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  • Ensure website content aligns with integrated digital campaigns and organizational messaging.
  • Identify opportunities to improve online engagement, event registration, educational resources, and digital conversion pathways.
  • Support continuous optimization of digital experiences across organizational websites.
  • Develop executive dashboards and performance reports providing actionable insights into digital engagement, audience growth, website traffic, campaign effectiveness, and fundraising performance.
  • Analyze digital trends and recommend strategies that improve organizational outcomes.
  • Present performance metrics, insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Serve as a trusted communications partner to executive leadership by providing strategic counsel on digital communications and audience engagement.
