About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a 52-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital in Oregon. The role involves providing high-quality care to patients with a range of medical conditions, including pneumonia, CHF, COPD, renal disease, sepsis, stroke, and overflow general surgical cases. The nurse works with a multidisciplinary team and may float to the surgical floor or PCU within their skillset. The unit provides two shifts of unit-specific orientation and has two charge nurses on each shift who do not take patient assignments. Scrubs may be any color and are not provided. Opportunities for permanent placement may be available if the fit is good.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Surgical unit experience is preferred but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, CHF, COPD, renal disease, sepsis, stroke, and overflow general surgical cases.
- Administer medications and treatments and monitor patient conditions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
- Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Float to the surgical floor and PCU within the nurse's skillset as needed.
