About The Position
As a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), you will provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions who require a higher level of monitoring and care than a traditional medical-surgical setting. The IMCU is a 40-bed unit caring for patients with cardiac conditions, stroke, and multi-organ dysfunction. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and appropriately delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program; specialized field of study should be nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS certification, or obtain it within 30 days of starting in the role.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments.
- Recognize changes in patient condition.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Evaluate patient responses to care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act.
- Delegate tasks appropriately based on patient condition and team competencies.
