About The Position
As a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), you will provide safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions who need a higher level of monitoring and care than a traditional medical-surgical setting. The 40-bed IMCU cares for patients with cardiac conditions, stroke, and multi-organ dysfunction. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4–5. You will perform comprehensive assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and evaluate patient responses to care. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care and promote positive patient outcomes. You will follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks appropriately based on patient condition, staff competency, and scope of practice. This is a full-time position, 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The position offers self-scheduling.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program.
- Specialized field of study must be nursing.
- RN license.
- BLS certification, or obtain it within 30 days of starting in the role.
- All certifications must be from AHA.
