About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Step Down Unit, which has 6–20 beds and a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. The nurse provides high-quality care to patients with complex medical conditions and may float to all Intermediate Care Units, mainly 5J and 12A.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant setting.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and provide direct patient care in a step-down environment.
• Monitor patients with conditions including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Possibly float to all Intermediate Care Units, mainly 5J and 12A.
