About The Position
CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians help patients and customers with their medication needs while supporting safe, accurate, and prompt prescription fulfillment. The position provides an opportunity to work in a leading retail pharmacy, maintain professional and ethical standards, comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and protect patient confidentiality. Technicians manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks and provide caring service in a fast-paced environment. New technicians must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may initially be restricted by a manager until these requirements are satisfied. Technicians can then continue developing clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training. Licensure requirements vary by state. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. The role is part-time, with 29 anticipated weekly hours.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; requirements vary by state.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over time without being distracted.
- Customer service orientation, including helping people in a friendly manner and responding appropriately to customers’ reactions.
- Verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues, including active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning, such as calculating a prescription’s days’ supply.
- Problem-resolution skills, including recognizing problems and choosing an appropriate course of action.
- Ability to meet the physical demands described, including standing for sustained periods, moving around the workplace, finger dexterity, reaching, bending and stooping, oral communication and hearing, close visual acuity, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- PTCB National Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Support prompt, safe, and accurate filling of patient prescriptions by managing assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks.
- Help ensure patients’ medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met.
- Provide caring service to patients and customers that exceeds their expectations.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements.
- Build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge and expertise using available tools and training.
