About The Position

Working under the day-to-day supervision of pharmacists and Pharmacy leadership, the Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for proper medication handling, including receiving, distribution, expiration-date management, inventory management in Pyxis, storage, repackaging, compounding, order filling, delivery, and stocking. The role requires ongoing demonstration of intermediate pharmacy practice skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, 40-hour position with rotating overnight work.

Requirements

Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
Current Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license.
Ability to perform gloved fingertip and media fill tests as required.
Written and oral communication skills.
Basic math skills needed for compounding.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Problem-solving ability.
Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

Perform hazardous compounding.
Perform batch sterility tests.
Monitor at least one Key Performance Indicator or produce at least one Key Process Improvement.
Assist in revising training materials.
Demonstrate intermediate skills in at least one of the following: intermediate purchasing, decentralized pharmacy services, medication histories, or ADC optimization.
Comply with HIPAA policies.
Maintain accurate records and perform accurate handoffs when handling controlled substances; immediately report concerns or discrepancies to a pharmacist or supervisor.
Handle medications, including receiving, distributing, managing expiration dates and Pyxis inventory, storing, repackaging, compounding, filling orders, delivering, and stocking.
