About The Position
As a part-time Security Officer serving a premier retail center in Irvine, California, you will help safeguard clients and create a welcoming environment for tenants, shoppers, visitors, and guests. The role involves visible patrols, customer service, observing and reporting concerns, responding to incidents, and following site-specific policies and emergency procedures. The schedule listed is Tuesday and Saturday, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM. Pay is $24.00 per hour.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and staff while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and other assigned locations.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, policy violations, and other security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and professionally, following site-specific protocols.
- Assist with access control, directions, and visitor interactions.
- Document daily activities and incidents.
