About The Position

BOS Security is hiring a part-time Security Officer in the Decatur, Georgia area to patrol and monitor the external parking lot of Wesley Chapel Crossing mall. The schedule is Thursday and Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The officer must make hourly patrols and provide professional customer service while reporting to work on time, in uniform, and ready to work.

Requirements

Strong professional customer service skills.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and a background check; the position is subject to random drug testing.
Must have a smartphone, a valid driver's license, and personal working transportation; drop-offs and public transportation are not accepted.

Nice To Haves

Security, law enforcement, military, or other related experience and/or training is preferred.
Stable work history.

Responsibilities

Patrol and monitor the external parking lot of Wesley Chapel Crossing mall, making hourly patrols.
Enforce parking lot rules and warn violators of infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles; apprehend or expel people engaged in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspect equipment and machinery for signs of tampering.
Watch for and report irregularities, including fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of client property.
Sound an alarm or contact the police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property.
Register at watch stations to record inspection-trip times.
Record property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment for supervisory staff.
Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at access points to maintain orderly flow.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Arrive at work on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
