About The Position

BOS Security is hiring a part-time security officer to patrol the external parking lot of Wesley Chapel Crossing mall in Decatur, Georgia. The schedule is Thursday and Friday from 3 PM to 11 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 7 PM. The officer makes hourly patrols, enforces parking lot rules, monitors property and access points, and responds to suspicious activity and safety concerns. Applicants must arrive on time in uniform and ready to work and maintain strong professional customer service skills.

Requirements

Strong professional customer service skills.
Stable work history.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and background check; the position is subject to random drug testing.
Must have a smartphone, a valid driver's license, and personal working transportation; drop-offs and public transportation are not accepted.

Responsibilities

Make hourly patrols of the external parking lot of Wesley Chapel Crossing mall.
Enforce parking lot rules.
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel people engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspect equipment and machinery for signs of tampering.
Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of client property.
Sound an alarm or contact police or the fire department by telephone in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property.
Register at watch stations to record the time of inspection trips.
Record property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment for supervisory staff.
Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at access points to maintain orderly flow.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Arrive on time in uniform and ready to work.
