About The Position

BOS Security is hiring a part-time security officer to patrol the external parking lot of Wesley Chapel Crossing mall in Decatur, Georgia. The schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 3 PM to 11 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 7 PM to 7 AM. The officer makes hourly patrols, enforces parking lot rules, monitors the property for suspicious activity and safety issues, and records inspections and incidents. Applicants must arrive on time in uniform and ready to work, maintain strong customer service skills, and have a smartphone, a valid driver's license, and their own working transportation. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check; the position is subject to random drug testing.

Own working transportation; drop-offs and public transportation are not accepted.

Responsibilities

Make hourly patrols.
Patrol and monitor the mall's external parking lot.
Enforce parking lot rules and warn violators of infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
Apprehend or expel people engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspect equipment and machinery for signs of tampering.
Watch for and report irregularities, including fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of client property.
Sound an alarm or contact police or the fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property.
Register at watch stations to record inspection trips.
Record property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment for supervisory staff.
Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at access points.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Arrive on time in uniform and ready to work.
Maintain strong professional customer service skills.
