About The Position

Securitas is hiring holiday/seasonal mall Security Officers in Edison, New Jersey. Officers observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site to help protect client property and personnel. They conduct periodic patrols, inspect protection devices and fire-control equipment, help preserve order and enforce site regulations, and control access through the admittance process.

Officers patrol on foot or by vehicle and check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances or exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons. They protect evidence or incident scenes during accidents, emergencies, or security investigations, and respond to incidents including fires, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, and inclement weather. Officers prepare required logs and reports. Duties may vary, and additional duties or modifications may be made according to business necessity.

The position is full-time and seasonal. Available schedules are Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., or Friday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The stated pay rate is $19.06. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is needed and provided.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable means of communication, such as a pager or phone.
• Reliable transportation.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• High school diploma or GED.
• SORA license.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification; provided for the position.
• Must meet and continue to meet applicable state, county, and municipal Security Officer licensing requirements.
• Ability to meet the job's physical and mental requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
