About The Position

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Power Utility Project Manager for a full-time, remote position. While the role is remote, new hires must complete a mandatory 2-week in-person paid orientation and training at their main office in Perrysburg, OH. This is not an Information Technology (IT) position. The Project Manager will oversee complex projects from initiation to close-out, ensuring effective communication between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing project scope, schedule, budget, and client accounts, as well as mentoring assistant project managers. The role involves creating proposals, leading kickoff meetings, planning and executing project phases, forecasting costs, and collaborating with internal teams for successful delivery. Key duties also include preparing change orders, monitoring project metrics, maintaining CRM records, ensuring orderly project closure with client acceptance and post-project evaluations, and documenting lessons learned. Budget management, including invoicing, and proactive risk identification and mitigation are crucial. Effective communication with all stakeholders, including regular updates to management and clients, is essential. Building and nurturing client relationships, understanding their needs and organizational structures, and serving as a primary point of contact are key. The role also involves identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities, preparing client presentations and proposals, staying informed on industry trends, and contributing to strategic plans for new business development. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Must be results-driven with a dedicated focus on achieving successful project performance, customer satisfaction, and organic sales growth.
  • Demonstrated level of understanding of commonly used project management concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the week.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly (20%-30%), which will include overnight travel.
  • Dependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Management may consider other education and/or work experience to be acceptable for appointment to this position.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Project management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small to large-scale complex projects from initiation to close-out.
  • Liaise between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and stakeholders for communication, reporting, and schedule management.
  • Maintain and grow client accounts.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to assistant project managers.
  • Establish, track, and control project cost, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Create proposals and lead kickoff meetings and discovery calls.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute all phases of projects or programs.
  • Develop high-level project workflow and ensure project scopes and milestone dates.
  • Provide project cost forecasting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for successful delivery of products/services.
  • Prepare project change orders and correction actions.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics, customer satisfaction, and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, agreements, and sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Ensure orderly closure of projects, including finalizing activities, obtaining client acceptance, and conducting post-project evaluations.
  • Document lessons learned and share best practices.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Handle project invoicing.
  • Identify potential risks and issues, and develop risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project life cycle.
  • Communicate deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates to management and team members.
  • Lead project update calls and meetings with external clients.
  • Monitor and manage expectations of communication between staff and external clients.
  • Build and nurture client relationships, understanding their needs and business objectives.
  • Build an understanding of the customer's organizational structure and decision-making process.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional offerings.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and sales materials to clients.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments.
  • Contribute towards and execute on the strategic plan to target new business opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
