Facility Manager

About The Position
The Facility Manager manages, supervises, and coordinates workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining facilities such as commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention, educational, and other establishments. The role manages customer relationships, coordinates work and supplies, and performs cleaning duties as needed. It also manages subordinate managers or supervisors and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including hiring, training, performance management, and resolving employee complaints and problems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or one to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Manage customer relationships by responding to requests, anticipating needs, and recommending additional services when appropriate.
- Assign tasks to workers and inspect completed work for conformance to standards.
- Issue supplies and equipment.
- Resolve workers' problems or refer matters to the corporate Human Resources Department.
- Record employees' hours worked on time cards or through e-Time.
- Submit requests for cleaning equipment repairs to the Divisional Vice President or Manager.
- Requisition cleaning supplies and equipment through the online purchasing system.
- Perform duties of supervised workers, including operating cleaning machines, propane and low-speed buffers, auto scrubbers, lifts, pressure washers, and business machines.
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; and address complaints and resolve problems.
