About The Position

Sonora is a behavioral health provider operating a 188-bed inpatient hospital and offering ECT and outpatient therapy services in Tucson, Arizona. The Facility Manager is responsible for general and preventive maintenance of the facility’s equipment, building, furniture, fixtures, and grounds, including monitoring work performed by outside vendors and contractors. The role oversees facility operations, staff, regulatory compliance, budgets, inventory, and small-scale projects to support safe and effective operations. The position may also perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Management may add or remove duties when circumstances such as emergencies, workload changes, rush jobs, or technological developments require it.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facilities management or operations.
Five or more years of experience in a similar position.
Valid state driver's license.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of supervisory experience.
Valid Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification.
First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

Manage activities involved in maintaining facilities and equipment.
Oversee building operations, including structural maintenance.
Ensure regulatory and building code compliance.
Direct, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Manage staff hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication.
Ensure safe operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Serve as project manager for small-scale, short-duration projects.
Develop and manage budget and inventory systems.
Manage facility design and renovation projects.
Analyze metrics and recommend improvements and solutions to identified issues.
Initiate and authorize repairs or replacements and prepare related cost estimates.
Be on-call for building emergencies.
Maintain facility operational effectiveness and safety.
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
