It is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and combines subject expertise, research, and preservation with creativity in music, art, and history. The museum collects artifacts, provides educational programs, and owns Hatch Show Print and Historic RCA Studio B. The Development department oversees all philanthropy, including membership, annual giving, major and planned giving, special events, and foundation, corporate, sponsorship, and government giving. They also steward relationships with members, the music community, elected officials, arts organizations, and donors, advocating for the arts and publishing strategic communications.
