About The Position
Iru is hiring a Manager of Solutions Engineering to lead Solutions Engineers day to day on a lean, rapidly growing team. This is a player-coach role focused on keeping the team technically sharp, ensuring deals and new customers receive appropriate technical coverage, and improving how the team discovers needs, demos solutions, supports migrations, and wins evaluations. Depending on business needs, the manager may lead the pre-sales team, the post-sales team, or both. Solutions Engineers on the team report to this role, which reports to the Global Director of Solutions Engineering. The role works closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Marketing. The position is hybrid in Iru’s Miami office, with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday. The manager sets the team’s operating rhythm and workload, coaches individual SEs, joins important opportunities and customer migrations, maintains technical standards, keeps the team current on product and market developments, helps hire and onboard SEs, and communicates field feedback to Product and leadership.
Requirements
- Experience managing or leading Solutions Engineers or another technical, customer-facing team, with a record of developing people.
- Strong Solutions Engineering background in pre-sales, post-sales, or both.
- Strong discovery, structured demo, value-positioning, and competitive skills.
- Current, in-depth knowledge of macOS and Windows device management, including MDM or UEM tools such as Jamf and Intune.
- Working knowledge of Okta or Entra ID, SAML, OIDC, and SCIM.
- Knowledge of endpoint security, including EDR and vulnerability management.
- Hands-on technical depth to troubleshoot, review proofs of concept, and challenge an SE’s technical approach.
- Comfort with scripting and APIs.
- Humility, coachability, and the ability to coach people while learning from their expertise.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment involving heavy customer calendars, context switching, quarter-end pushes, and constant product change; demonstrate ownership and encourage team knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
Nice To Haves
- Experience building or scaling a Solutions Engineering team, including hiring and onboarding.
- Experience with long, complex technical evaluations and larger deals.
- Experience with Android Enterprise, Declarative Device Management, or Platform SSO.
- Background in compliance automation or GRC.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team’s day-to-day rhythm, coverage, and workload so each opportunity receives the appropriate Solutions Engineering support.
- Listen to calls and provide direct, useful coaching on discovery, demos, positioning, and objection handling; develop each SE with a clear growth path.
- Join key opportunities and customer migrations, pressure-test technical strategy, and help Account Executives and SEs move evaluations to close and customers to go live.
- Set and maintain high standards for demos, proofs of concept, and technical validation across Windows, macOS, endpoint security, identity, and compliance.
- Keep the team current on product releases, competitors, and newer areas such as Android, identity, and compliance; build repeatable assets that save time.
- Help interview and hire Solutions Engineers and onboard new hires so they become productive quickly.
- Work with Sales, Product, and Marketing; relay clear field feedback to Product and inform leadership about the team’s strengths and support needs.
