Manager, Business Solution Engineering

Highspring•Chicago, GA

About The Position

As a Manager within Highspring’s Financial Services team, you will lead teams solving complex and often ambiguous challenges for financial services clients. You will take accountability for the problem, solution, team, and outcome, working directly with client leaders to define objectives, establish the approach, lead solution design, and manage execution. You will bring expertise across financial services and transformation domains while connecting business strategy, operations, finance, technology, data, risk, controls, and implementation considerations. The role requires moving between executive-level strategy and detailed execution and creating structure when the answer or path forward is not predefined. Highspring’s Financial Services team helps financial institutions solve complex business problems across traditional functional boundaries. The team brings together strategy, business architecture, finance and accounting, risk, operations, data, AI, and technology to design and deliver practical solutions. Its work spans the front, middle, and back office, including lending platforms, finance and subledger architecture, risk transformation, enterprise data platforms, and AI-enabled operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Technology, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial services consulting, business transformation, business architecture, finance, risk, operations, data, technology, or a related environment.
  • Experience across areas such as lending, deposits, payments, treasury, finance, risk and controls, regulatory change, data, technology, M&A integration, or operating-model transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex workstreams, transformation initiatives, or business solution-design efforts.
  • Ability to structure an ambiguous client problem, lead a team through analysis, and develop an executable solution.
  • Experience designing future-state business solutions across people, process, data, technology, governance, controls, and operating models.
  • Experience translating business needs into functional, process, data, control, and technology requirements, solution designs, or implementation plans.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Experience leading client workshops, working sessions, requirements sessions, and decision forums.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex issues into clear recommendations, tradeoffs, and decisions.
  • Curiosity about how emerging technologies can fundamentally change how financial services work is performed.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Power Automate, or comparable cloud, data, AI, automation, and workflow technologies.
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25%.
  • Flexibility to work onsite with clients or in a Highspring office.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or another relevant advanced degree, professional certification, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience leading business readiness, UAT, data conversion, implementation testing, cutover planning, or post-implementation stabilization activities.
  • Experience managing consulting engagement scope, delivery, teams, and economics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of practical business solutions that translate strategic objectives and complex challenges into executable changes across people, process, data, technology, governance, and controls.
  • Own complex client problems from initial definition through solution design and implementation, establishing the approach and direction with limited senior-level oversight.
  • Lead the design and modernization of financial services platforms, including areas such as lending origination, underwriting, servicing, payments, deposits, models, and treasury.
  • Design finance architectures spanning operational platforms, subledgers, general ledgers, consolidation, and financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead assessments and solutions for how enterprise data platforms support business processes, reporting, analytics, risk management, AI, and decision-making.
  • Apply knowledge of modern cloud and data platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks, to broader business solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to redesign processes using AI, enterprise agents, workflow automation, and low-code technologies such as Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Help clients establish OKRs, KPIs, and performance-management frameworks that connect strategic objectives to measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead or support risk transformation across operational risk, enterprise risk, controls, regulatory change, resilience, and first- and second-line operating models.
  • Lead workstreams within complex transformation programs, including M&A integration, finance transformation, regulatory change, enterprise data, AI, and technology modernization.
  • Evaluate solution alternatives and guide clients through tradeoffs involving business value, customer experience, complexity, risk, technology, regulatory considerations, and execution.
  • Serve as a day-to-day advisor to client leaders, bringing perspectives and recommendations.
  • Lead solution-design workshops, executive working sessions, stakeholder interviews, requirements sessions, and decision forums.
  • Bridge business and technology teams so business objectives translate into clear requirements and technology solutions deliver intended outcomes.
  • Anticipate cross-functional risks, dependencies, and execution challenges and proactively drive them toward resolution.
  • Review and challenge analyses and deliverables to ensure solutions are practical, well-supported, and communicate a clear point of view.
