About The Position

Tulip is hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead its Identity & Access work. The role owns the architecture and roadmap for authentication, provisioning, account structures, and authorization across Tulip’s multi-cloud infrastructure. The manager will lead a small, high-caliber team and help manufacturers securely govern access for employees and AI agents. The work supports security-critical operations where failures can affect production, materials, and compliance. The role is based in Somerville, Massachusetts, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week in the office. The successful candidate will stay close to technical work, build and operate identity and access systems, and maintain strong standards for code quality, testing, and operational reliability. They will represent Identity & Access in cross-functional architecture and roadmap decisions, make difficult IAM and access-policy tradeoffs, and drive practical adoption of AI tools in engineering workflows. The position offers a salary range of $160,000–$220,000 per year, with actual compensation based on factors including experience, skills, location, and internal equity.

  • A track record of shipping clean, tested code and holding a team to the same standard.
  • Active use of AI tooling in personal engineering practice and a point of view on how it changes how teams build.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
