About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or Real Estate Services and five years of project management or space-planning experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coordination and execution of space and concept design projects within the parameters of URochester Medicine’s strategic and master facilities plan.
• Manage space allocations and utilization of facilities owned or leased by URochester Medicine.
• Implement multidisciplinary planning projects for wet and dry research laboratories, medical education facilities, and related support space.
• Supervise, recruit, guide, coordinate, and evaluate research and medical education senior space planners; provide day-to-day oversight, coaching, and instruction.
• Manage workloads and allocate resources to meet project deadlines and organizational objectives.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team and with relevant departments and stakeholders.
• Develop and analyze alternatives regarding resource requirements; oversee development of productivity and dollar-density metrics for wet and dry research efforts.
• Recommend strategic and tactical approaches to decision-making and improvements in research and medical education space utilization.
• Coordinate research on the need for emerging projects and evaluate the comprehensive integrated planning process.
• Act as liaison on projects to ensure adherence to original planning or acceptable alternatives.
• Evaluate requests for renovation, relocation, expansion, or improved use of existing space.
• Prepare and contribute to program documentation, reports, recommendations, planning programs, and layout schematics for approval.
• Represent URochester Medicine in matters pertaining to space use, acquisition, and disposition.
• Identify and maintain institutional swing space to manage program displacement during renovations or preparation of new space.
• Serve as liaison between clients/users and architects, contractors, and project managers.
• Manage preparation of projections of building needs based on analyses of URochester Medicine’s growth patterns and plans.
• Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with department chairs, department leadership, supply vendors, and external entities to foster customer service and institutional collaboration.
