About The Position

Madrona Elementary School is seeking a Custodian to join their team. This is a full-time position with 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 260 days per year. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school building and grounds. New hires will be placed on a salary step based on prior contracted educational experience. The position offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, with contributions to PERS retirement accounts.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to use cleaning materials skillfully and efficiently on different surfaces.
  • Skill in using electrical and hand appliances for housekeeping.
  • Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Physical strength to perform eight hours of manual tasks.
  • High moral standards and character.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and follow instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be fingerprinted.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of experience in the care of school buildings and grounds.
  • Ability to use email.

Responsibilities
