About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility to support a positive member experience. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor; stocking locker room paper products; reporting broken amenities or equipment; and promptly turning in lost member property according to the company’s lost and found policy. The position requires customer service, active listening, problem-solving, and tactful communication with members, coworkers, and the public. Minimum qualifications are honesty and a good work ethic. The posting identifies the role as full-time or part-time, non-supervisory, and non-exempt.

Requirements

Honesty and a good work ethic.
Ability to stand and walk for at least 75% of the shift.
Ability to reach and feel with hands, fingers, and arms for at least 75% of the shift.
Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch for less than 20% of the shift.
Talking with members and staff for less than 30% of the shift.
Ability to lift over 100 lbs. for less than 20% of the shift.
May encounter toxic chemicals for less than 30% of the shift.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
Stock locker rooms with appropriate paper products.
Report broken amenities or equipment, including toilets, showers, hair dryers, and gym equipment, to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead.
Immediately turn lost member property in to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead in accordance with the lost and found policy.
Communicate with and assist members, coworkers, and the public using customer-service, listening, problem-solving, and diplomacy skills.
