About The Position

The Overnight Custodian is responsible for keeping all areas of the facility clean to ensure a positive member experience. The role reports to the Club Manager and is designated as full-time or part-time, non-supervisory, and non-exempt. The custodian cleans and sanitizes locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor; replenishes locker-room paper products; reports damaged amenities or equipment; and promptly turns in lost property according to the club’s lost-and-found policy. The position requires honesty, a good work ethic, and customer-service, listening, problem-solving, and diplomacy skills. Compensation is $14.25–$16.25 per hour.

Requirements

Honesty and a good work ethic.
Must be able to lift over 100 pounds for less than 20% of the shift.
Standing and walking for at least 75% of the shift.
Reaching and feeling with hands, fingers, and arms for at least 75% of the shift.
Climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching for less than 20% of the shift.
Talking with members or staff for less than 30% of the shift.
May encounter toxic chemicals for less than 30% of the shift.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
Stock locker rooms with appropriate paper products.
Report broken amenities or equipment, such as toilets, showers, hair dryers, and gym equipment, to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead.
Promptly turn in lost member property to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead according to the lost-and-found policy.
Interact with members, coworkers, and the public in a way that exceeds their needs.
Listen actively, empathize with customers, and work with them to solve problems.
Recognize and define problems, analyze relevant information, consider alternative solutions, and seek assistance when needed.
Use tact and appropriate behavior and language in all interactions.
