Overnight Custodian
About The Position
The Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. This is a full-time or part-time, non-supervisory, non-exempt position reporting to the Club Manager. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor; restocking locker room paper products; reporting broken amenities or equipment; and promptly turning in lost member property according to Baseline Fitness’s lost and found policy. The Cleaner is expected to demonstrate customer service, active listening, problem-solving, and diplomacy when interacting with members, coworkers, and the public.
Requirements
- Honesty and a good work ethic.
- Must be able to lift over 100 pounds for less than 20% of the shift.
- Standing and walking for at least 75% of the shift.
- Reaching and feeling with hands, fingers, or arms for at least 75% of the shift.
- Climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching for less than 20% of the shift.
- Talking with members or staff for less than 30% of the shift.
- May encounter toxic chemicals for less than 30% of the shift.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
- Stock the locker room with appropriate paper products.
- Report broken amenities or equipment, such as toilets, showers, hair dryers, or gym equipment, to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead.
- Immediately turn lost member property in to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead according to Baseline Fitness’s lost and found policy.
- Communicate and interact with customers, coworkers, and the public in a way that exceeds customer needs.
- Listen actively, empathize with customers, and work together to solve problems.
- Recognize and define problems, analyze relevant information, consider alternative solutions, and seek additional assistance when needed.
- Demonstrate tact and use appropriate behavior and language in interactions.
