About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. The role includes thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor; stocking locker rooms with paper products; reporting broken amenities or equipment to the appropriate manager or team lead; and promptly turning in lost member property according to the company’s lost and found policy. The position requires honest, dependable work and interactions with members, coworkers, and the public that demonstrate strong customer service, active listening, problem-solving, and diplomacy. The posting identifies the role as full-time or part-time, non-supervisory, and non-exempt.

Requirements

Honesty and good work ethic.
Ability to stand and walk for at least 75% of the shift.
Ability to reach and feel with hands, fingers, and arms for at least 75% of the shift.
Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch for less than 20% of the shift.
Ability to talk with members and staff for less than 30% of the shift.
Ability to lift over 100 pounds for less than 20% of the shift.
May encounter toxic chemicals for less than 30% of the shift.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
Stock locker rooms with appropriate paper products.
Report broken amenities or equipment, such as toilets, showers, hair dryers, and gym equipment, to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead.
Immediately turn in lost member property to the Club Manager, Manager in Training, or Team Lead in accordance with the lost and found policy.
Communicate and interact with customers, coworkers, and the public in a way that exceeds customer needs.
Listen actively, empathize with customers, and work together to solve problems.
Recognize and define problems, analyze relevant information, consider alternative solutions, and seek additional assistance when needed.
Demonstrate tact and appropriate behavior and language in all interactions.
