About The Position

Performs a variety of tasks to keep facilities managed by courthouse staff functionally and cosmetically maintained and running smoothly, helping protect county assets. The role cleans and maintains building interiors, furnishings, floors, glass, and restrooms; handles supplies and waste; and helps keep courthouse facilities in safe operating condition. Training is provided for floor stripping, waxing, and buffing.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Must be able to work independently without supervision.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques.
Must know how to safely dispose of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
Ability to present oneself professionally in a variety of offices and professional situations, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

One year of custodial work or related experience preferred.
Preferred knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, machinery, and appliances, including floor buffers and scrubbers; training is provided.

Responsibilities

Gather and remove trash from all areas.
Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
Clean interior surfaces, entrances, and furnishings by dusting, disinfecting, and polishing offices and restrooms.
Clean up after special events and meetings.
Assist with setup and teardown of equipment and furnishings as needed.
Stock essential supplies.
Coordinate necessary supplies and communication with the Courthouse Maintenance Manager.
Help ensure the courthouse and its facilities are in safe operating condition.
Clean glass and windows.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, including the lobby, halls, restrooms, and offices.
Strip, re-wax, and buff floors; training is provided.
Perform light preventative maintenance, such as changing filters.
Demonstrate a positive attitude when working with the public and take initiative to provide a clean, attractive environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
