About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The position performs janitorial work, maintains assigned areas and cleaning equipment, and handles special and hazardous waste according to required procedures. The employee follows safety and company protocols, works with a team, responds to supervision, and communicates professionally with coworkers, managers, leads, and customers. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. No specific education is required. Three to six months of training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license may be required depending on business needs; employees who drive for work must meet company driving eligibility requirements. Safety and task-training certification must be completed, and forklift certification may be required. The listed schedules are Sunday–Thursday, 7:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; Monday–Friday, 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday, 5:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 5:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Compensation is $18.20–$19.20 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all safety and task-training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive as part of their duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share that knowledge with the team.
Knowledge of cleaning equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability is a plus.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily upkeep of assigned areas and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others.
Perform assignments as part of a team and complete repetitive tasks.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staffing shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
