About The Position

The Lift and Rigging Engineer Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for leading and overseeing complex lifting operations in the construction industry. This role demands extensive expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of high-risk lift procedures. The engineer will mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient lifting solutions.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing.
  • 6+ yrs construction management experience in similar facility construction.
  • PE required or degree + 10 yrs design experience and 6+ yrs construction experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering with current PE (Professional Engineer) license.
  • Extensive experience in lifting and rigging operations, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficient in lifting simulation software and CAD tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of lifting codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of complex and high-risk lifting operations.
  • Develop and approve comprehensive lifting plans and method statements.
  • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments for critical lifts.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, LOLER).
  • Mentor and supervise Lifting Trainee, Level 1, and Level 2 Lifting professionals.
  • Coordinate with project managers, crane operators, rigging teams, and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve lifting equipment certifications and inspection records.
  • Participate in lifting incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contribute to the development of lifting procedures and stamp when required.
