About The Position

ICF Next is seeking a Communications Associate to support its growing federal, state, and local transportation communications and marketing initiatives. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about planning, developing, and implementing successful communication and engagement strategies, with at least 3 years of professional marketing communications experience. The position follows a hybrid work schedule and can be based out of ICF's Rockville, MD, Washington, DC, or Reston, VA offices. Candidates must reside within the Washington Metropolitan Area and be able to commute to an office as needed. This role is contingent upon contract award, and while not an immediate opening, ICF is actively interviewing and extending contingent offers in anticipation of award.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional marketing communications experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills, including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent writing skills; ability to provide a writing sample.
  • Strong team orientation with a focus on collaboration.
  • Responsive and open to feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Transportation communications or marketing experience.
  • Knowledge of traditional and social media environments; understanding of various communication channels and how they work (print, social, digital, paid media, events and outreach, direct response, etc.).
  • Understanding of email management systems, email content strategy and analytics, and email platforms such as GovDelivery, MailChimp, Constant Contact, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Knowledge of marketing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics.
  • Willingness for moderate travel as needed.
  • Energetic, self-starter, and resourceful problem solver with a demonstrated can-do attitude and willingness to jump in where needed.
  • Creative thinker with an innovative approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of communications plans and strategies to meet client objectives and goals.
  • Interact and collaborate with team members and clients through written communications, meetings, and collaborative work platforms.
  • Manage the development of creative materials, working in coordination with Creative Studio designers, editors, internal program teams, and clients on various products including newsletters, fact sheets, videos, case studies, social media content, emails, and websites.
  • Coordinate project workflows, deliverable trackers, timelines, progress reports, and meeting materials.
  • Provide support, coordination, and development of strategic plans and presentations.
  • Support planning and execution of events, meetings, and workshops.
  • Manage multiple deliverables simultaneously with varying deadlines using Microsoft Office and other collaboration tools including Teams, Trello, Sharepoint, SmartSheets, etc.
