About The Position

Abbott’s Structural Heart business develops device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease. This Clinical Sales Specialist role focuses on Abbott’s stroke prevention offering, including Amplatzer, Amulet, and LAA Occluder products. The position provides clinical and sales support by educating current and prospective customers and covering procedures within a defined region. The specialist trains interventional cardiologists, catheter lab staff, and ancillary personnel on Structural Heart products, provides technical support to physicians during procedures, communicates product, clinical, and market data to relevant personnel, and supports product marketing strategy development and implementation. The position may be hired at different levels depending on the candidate’s experience and may require travel in excess of 50%.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of related work experience.
  • Verification that the candidate will satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Strong clinical orientation and the ability to influence a variety of clinician personality types.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in life sciences or medical training, such as RN, EMT, or perfusion.
  • Experience with products used in interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery.
  • Familiarity with echocardiology and other indirect imaging.
  • Electrophysiology (EP) and Structural Heart (SH) sales experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Territory Managers to provide case coverage and support clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Serve as a primary resource for clinical support, including surgical coverage, troubleshooting, and in-service education for company products.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical use of company products, and inform them about product, therapy, and technology developments.
  • Participate in clinical, procedural, and technical discussions and connect outcome data to key messaging.
  • Meet with existing and prospective healthcare provider clients to identify clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and provide feasible solutions.
  • Train interventional cardiologists, catheter lab staff, and ancillary personnel on Structural Heart products and provide technical support to physicians during procedures.
  • Communicate product, clinical, and market data to appropriate personnel and support the development and implementation of product marketing strategies.
