About The Position

Animal Hospital of Lewisville is seeking a skilled and dependable Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join their growing team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on veterinary experience who is looking to stay engaged in clinical practice while maintaining schedule flexibility. The hospital is looking for a team member who brings strong technical abilities, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for patient care, someone who can confidently support their medical team and contribute to a high standard of care. Animal Hospital of Lewisville provides compassionate, full-service veterinary care for dogs and cats throughout Lewisville, Clemmons, Pfafftown, Winston-Salem, Mocksville, and Rural Hall. Their team delivers relationship-driven, high-quality medicine, offering services including preventive and wellness care, surgery and dental procedures, digital X-ray and ultrasound diagnostics, echocardiograms and advanced imaging, dermatology and allergy care, laser therapy for pain management and healing, and urgent and sick patient care. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience preferred (assistant or technician level)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care standards
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
  • Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout shifts
  • Comfortable working in a clinical setting with potential exposure to infectious diseases
  • Participation in our rotating Saturday schedule is essential

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective patient handling and restraint
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Administer medications and support pharmacy and prescription fulfillment
  • Perform basic clinical support tasks (lab work, diagnostics, treatment prep as applicable)
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency throughout the hospital
  • Support care for boarding and hospitalized patients as needed
  • Communicate clearly with team members to ensure seamless patient care
  • Take initiative and contribute to a team-first, solutions-oriented environment
