Veterinary Technician Student Externship - New Dorp, NY

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG)•New York, NY
•Onsite

About The Position

VEG offers a hands-on Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program in emergency medicine, working alongside credentialed emergency veterinary technicians. Externs participate rather than only observe, gaining exposure to patient triage, diagnostics, outpatient visits, anesthesia, and inpatient care while practicing skills required by their school’s proficiency checklist. The experience provides mentorship and an opportunity to explore a future in emergency veterinary medicine. Externs choose the length of the experience based on their program requirements and select a VEG hospital based on availability. This is an unpaid externship opportunity. VEG says it welcomes former externs to explore employment opportunities when they are ready.
