Veterinary Technician Assistant
About The Position

The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports patient care and hospital operations, including assisting with exams, diagnostics, treatment, nursing care, and surgery. The role involves working with animals and may include exposure to unpleasant odors and noises, bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience is preferred.
- Compassionate, calm team player.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to properly restrain pets.
- Self-starter with a desire to continue advancing knowledge and skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with large animals is a plus but is not required.
- Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Restrain pets and triage incoming patients.
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples.
- Perform diagnostic imaging.
- Manage and provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability.
- Administer medications.
- Communicate treatment plans effectively to clients.
- Prepare for and assist with surgery.
- Manage anesthesia.
