About The Position

Gardner Animal Care Center is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistant with a positive attitude to support patient care in a fun, energetic, and caring team environment. The position assists technicians and veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgical and dental procedures, animal handling, medications, patient care, laboratory work, client education, and maintaining a clean and organized workplace. The role also includes cleaning, maintenance, and laundry duties.

Requirements

• Experience as a veterinary technician assistant.
• Strong animal-handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT), or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians and veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dental procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain animals.
• Administer medications and vaccines.
• Provide general patient care, including feeding, walking, and giving medications.
• Collect laboratory samples and maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate clients on pet care.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform maintenance, cleaning, and laundry responsibilities.
