About The Position
This is an exciting opportunity for a technician who enjoys utilizing advanced technical skills, critical thinking, and compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, multi-specialty referral and emergency hospital located in Downers Grove, Illinois. Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.
- Collaborate closely with Criticalists, ER Doctors, Specialists, and fellow technicians.
- Perform triage assessments and assist with patient stabilization.
- Utilize advanced technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, laboratory diagnostics, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusion support.
- Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing subtle changes in patient status and communicating findings to the medical team.
- Assist with emergency procedures and advanced treatments.
- Educate clients and provide clear discharge instructions.
- Help create a positive, collaborative environment focused on outstanding patient care.
