About The Position

Requirements

• Previous professional childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood classroom experience.
• Experience supporting classroom routines and supervising young children.
• Patient, dependable, nurturing, and team-oriented.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must meet applicable Virginia childcare licensing, background screening, and regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities, routines, and transitions.
• Support implementation of The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Engage children through stories, music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Support meals, rest time, toileting, and daily care routines as appropriate.
• Use positive guidance to encourage independence and appropriate behavior.
• Maintain active supervision and required classroom ratios.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow teachers.
• Follow Virginia childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
