Assistant Teacher
About The Position
The Assistant Teacher supports children’s learning and development in Infant and Toddler classrooms at Primrose School at Oregon Park. The role involves building genuine relationships with each child, supporting their development in language and literacy, science, life skills, and other areas, and working with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum. The Assistant Teacher maintains a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make confident decisions, and adapts teaching to discover what works best for each child. The position is Monday through Friday during closing hours, either 9:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Classrooms are fully enrolled, and childcare is not available. Primrose provides classroom supplies, training, and support from a leadership team focused on a safe, healthy environment and a positive culture for children and team members.
Responsibilities
- Build genuine relationships with each child.
- Support children's learning in language and literacy, science, life skills, and other areas.
- Work with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the Balanced Learning® curriculum.
- Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
- Discover and apply approaches that work best for each child as they learn about the world around them.
