New York State Pre-K Assistant Teacher, Childtime of Mechanicville
About The Position
The State Pre-K Assistant Teacher instructs 4-year-old children according to each child’s needs and program requirements. The role supports children’s preparation for Kindergarten and beyond by providing daily care, implementing curriculum, and creating fun, interactive learning experiences. The Assistant Teacher follows licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements; develops skills in observing and assessing children and planning for their needs; and communicates effectively with families. Extensive training is provided on child care, preschool, and child development topics. The position requires working indoors or outdoors and engaging in physical activity with children.
Requirements
- High school diploma and six hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
- Ability to meet state education requirements and center requirements.
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or an active CDA in Preschool; stated as preferred.
Responsibilities
