About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Two years of recent experience.
• Organizational and multitasking skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including keyboarding, mouse movement, data entry, and scheduling programs.
• Verbal and written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients, and patient families; patience and compassion are required.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively, complete assignments within allotted time, and maintain standard workflow.
• Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner.
• Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions.
• Active listening, interpersonal, and telephone communication skills.
• Ability to apply moderate mental concentration to handle multiple procedures and interruptions throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Maintain scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures for assigned departments.
• Coordinate surgical services with physicians’ offices and other related departments.
• Verify room and equipment availability when required.
• Document patient procedure and physician information.
• Log completed procedures.
• Generate surgical procedure charge sheets when required.
• Perform additional associated duties as requested by the manager.
• Ensure the accuracy of the schedule.
