About The Position
The Software Engineering Manager oversees the Software Development team to support productivity, timely delivery, and code quality. The role leads the team through the full Agile software development lifecycle, manages day-to-day development operations, provides technical guidance, and contributes to software design, development, testing, maintenance, and debugging within the RMS architecture. The manager performs code reviews, maintains the Agile backlog, and supports a collaborative team environment. The position involves working with modern technologies and practices, including AI technology and LLMs, and collaborating with engineers to improve technology and apply best practices. The role also includes employee training and evaluation, determining staffing needs, and assisting with hiring.
Requirements
- Strong back-end development skills with Java and C#.
- Suitable educational background.
- Strong understanding of Java concurrency and concurrency patterns.
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD), code testability standards, JUnit, and Mockito.
- Experience with containerization.
- Familiarity with SQL databases, SQL and stored procedures, and ORM tools.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Scripting experience and ability to work in a Linux environment.
- Experience with high-volume, mission-critical applications.
- Familiarity with design patterns and their uses.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills.
- Familiarity with C/C++ or other programming languages.
- Experience with version control such as GIT or CVS.
- One to three years of experience in a leadership role.

- Experience with LLMs and AI development methodologies.

- Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Development team through a full Agile SDLC.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Team Leads and Team Members.
- Perform employee training and evaluation.
- Determine staffing needs and assist in hiring for the Development team.
- Upgrade, develop, and integrate existing code.
- Develop new software.
- Work in a small team environment to accomplish long-term goals.
- Analyze, design, and develop tests and test-automation suites.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for existing systems and platforms.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Work alongside other engineers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
- Build and deploy infrastructure using cloud deployment technologies, with a strong DevOps focus.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
