About The Position

As a Security Officer Tow Pound Lot Patrol in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a government tow pound location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist with access control. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while working with a reliable, agile, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities at a government vehicle storage location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of vehicle storage areas, access points, perimeter fencing, offices, and surrounding grounds to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify authorization for entry and vehicle retrieval as directed by site policies, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and public-service agencies as required.
  • Observe and report damaged property, unsecured gates, lighting concerns, suspicious activity, and other security-related conditions in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
