Security Officer Patrol - Transit
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer to support a public transportation location in Salem, Oregon. The officer will safeguard passengers, staff, visitors, and transit facilities by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, assisting the public, and responding to concerns. The role requires professional communication, customer service, observation, reporting, and calm responses to incidents and service disruptions. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 1:45 PM. The pay rate is $24.31 per hour. Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles. Employment is subject to applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements.
Requirements

Nice To Haves
- Experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and a baton.
- Guard Card or license.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and surrounding perimeters.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, prohibited conduct, hazards, and maintenance-related concerns according to site-specific procedures.
- Assist with access control, direct visitors, and enforce facility rules through professional and courteous interactions.
