About The Position

Central Kentucky Sedation Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on General Anesthesia case days in Pediatric Dental offices across Central Kentucky. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric care, particularly in the PACU, OR, ED, or ICU settings. This role involves working with a highly skilled team that includes anesthesiologists and CRNAs to provide optimal sedation and recovery care for pediatric patients in a dental office environment. This is a full-time salaried position offering competitive pay and benefits. Our typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with travel required to multiple locations within Central Kentucky. Locations include: Lexington, Danville, Harrodsburg, Richmond, Mt. Sterling, Morehead, Shelbyville, Elizabethtown, Nicholasville, Winchester, London, and Corbin. There are no evening shifts or on-call duties.

Requirements

  • Active RN License: Must be licensed to practice in Kentucky.
  • Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through KBEM recognized organization or the AHA.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in pediatric care, particularly in PACU, OR, ED, or ICU.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. of equipment as necessary.
  • Strong patient care skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Driver's License: Required for travel to multiple office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and care for pediatric patients recovering from sedation or general anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Assess and document patients’ vital signs, closely observing for any signs of side effects or adverse reactions to anesthesia.
  • Address pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms related to anesthesia recovery.
  • Work closely with the anesthesia team and other healthcare providers to ensure quality post-sedation care and quick intervention when necessary.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient charts and medical records throughout the recovery process.
  • Recognize and treat potential adverse reactions to anesthesia promptly, coordinating care as needed.
