About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical decision unit. The D2 Clinical Decision Unit in Asheville, NC has 20 beds and cares for inpatient overflow and mixed-acuity patients, including medical-surgical and/or step-down patients and short-stay patients with stays under 24 hours. Patient ratios are 1:5 or 1:6, depending on level of care. The unit uses Cerner and telemetry, with patients hardwired to bedside monitors when indicated. Travelers may be required to float to other units as needed. The position requires working every other weekend; there are no on-call duties. The dress code is a navy and/or white top, navy bottoms, and all-white shoes.

Requirements

• Two years of nursing experience.
• Telemetry competency.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.

• Recent experience in progressive care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on care plans and health management.
• Participate in patient assessments and care planning.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
