About The Position
Blakehurst is seeking Registered Nurses to provide high-quality patient care in a Life Plan Community serving seniors. The RN is responsible for overall nursing care and services during the assigned shift, including medication and treatment administration, documentation, and responding to emergencies. Full-time and part-time overnight schedules are available. The position is based at Blakehurst’s campus in Towson, Maryland.
Requirements
- Current nursing license in the State of Maryland.
- Current CPR certification.
- Pass the preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness-for-duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
- Some roles may require providing vaccination status or testing information for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV) to confirm immunity.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of nursing experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
- Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Supervise direct care of residents and nursing personnel during the assigned shift.
- Provide direct care as necessary.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Make rounds to ensure residents receive proper care in a safe and clean environment.
- Keep physicians and families informed of changes in residents’ conditions.
- Assist in developing comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain residents’ self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
- Respond to the resident emergency call system.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care and services.
- Accompany physicians during rounds.
- Encourage restorative care to support maximum resident independence.
- Participate in family and resident counseling as necessary.
- Assist with the orientation and evaluation of nursing personnel.
- Attend assigned in-service training and education sessions.
- Ensure equipment functions properly and supplies are adequate.
